Delicious chocolate brownies made with lots of melted chocolate, butter, and sugar, along with eggs and other ingredients. These delicious chocolate brownies are mixed in a saucepan then baked in the oven.

Recipe Ingredients for Brownies (standard)

2/3 c. butter or stick margarine
5 oz. unsweetened baking chocolate, cut into pieces
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 tsp vanilla
3 large eggs
1 c. all purpose flour

Recipe Directions for Brownies (standard)

  1. Heat oven to 350. Grease bottom and sides of square pan, 9x9, with shortening.

  2. Melt butter and chocolate in 1 qt saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly. Cool 5 minutes.

  3. Beat sugar, vanilla and eggs in medium bowl with electric mixer on high speed 5 minutes. Beat in chocolate mixture on low speed, scraping bowl occasionally. Beat in flour just until blended, scraping bowl occasionally. Spread in pan.

  4. Bake 40-45 minutes or just until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan.
