Recipe Ingredients for Brownies - Real Food Brownies

227 g pitted dates
72 g cocoa powder
1/4 c canola oil
170 g agave nectar
425 g garbanzo beans, ground
4 eggs
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon, ground

Recipe Directions for Brownies - Real Food Brownies

  1. Preheat oven to 350.

  2. Put dates into a liquid measuring cup and fill with HOT water to the 1.5 cup line. Stir dates to make sure they are all covered in water. Let sit for at least 10 minutes; drain water to the 1.25 cup line.

  3. Process dates in food processor until they form a thick paste.

  4. Put dates in a large mixing bowl and add the cocoa, oil, ane agve nectar; mix well.

  5. Combine the beans & eggs in the food processor & process until very smooth.

  6. Add beans to the date mixture and stir well to combine.

  7. Add baking powder & cinnamon, stirring to combine.

  8. Transfer to a 9" nonstick pan (or lightly spray a glass pan).

  9. Bake for 45 minutes. Cool for at least 15 minutes, cut & serve.

  10. Store in the refrigerator.
