Can't decide between cookies and brownies? This recipe* is easy, quick and only makes 20 cookies (effectively reducing the amount you can eat in one sitting).

Recipe Ingredients for Brownie Cookies

3/4 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
3/4 cup all-purpose flour

Recipe Directions for Brownie Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F.

  2. Line two cookie sheets with baking parchment paper.

  3. Microwave chocolate chips and butter in a Pyrex bowl or 8 c glass measuring cup on HIGH for 40-60 seconds (until smooth), stirring every 20 seconds.

  4. Add sugar and egg, and mix until well blended. Use a mixing spoon- this will be too thick for a whisk.

  5. Add flour and mix until flour is just incorporated.

  6. Spoon batter/dough/whatever you want to call it onto the cookie sheets: make blobs/cookies/whatever you want to call them 1" diameter and space them 1" apart. You should get about 18-20 cookies.

  7. Bake 9-10 minutes or until edges are firm. (While waiting, you can clean the few dishes you used, which will take all of two minutes, but reduces the amount of time you'll spend salivating at the oven door.)

  8. Eat as soon as they won't burn skin off the roof of your mouth.
