Recipe Ingredients for Brown Sugar Meatloaf II

1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup ketchup
1 pound ground beef
1 pound ground pork
3/4 cup bread crumbs, dry seasoned
1 can (10 1/2 oz) vegetable soup
2 eggs, beaten
1 medium onion, diced
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 beef bouillon cube

Recipe Directions for Brown Sugar Meatloaf II

  1. Adjust oven rack to lower-middle position, and heat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a 9x5 inch loaf pan with vegetable cooking spray. Press brown sugar into prepared pan bottom; spread ketchup over the sugar.

  2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef and pork with bread crumbs, condensed soup, eggs, onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and bouillon. Form meat into a loaf, and press over brown sugar-ketchup mixture.

  3. Bake in the preheated oven until a meat thermometer inserted into the center of the loaf registers 160 degrees F (70 degrees C), about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

  4. Mix some ketchup, brown sugar and a dash of Worcestershire sauce to taste. About 1/3 cup will do. Slather this on the loaf for the last 30 minutes in the oven.
