A lower calorie alternative to one of my childhood favorites!

Recipe Ingredients for Brown Sugar Acorn Squash

1/2 acorn squash
1 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tbsp unsweetened apple sauce

Recipe Directions for Brown Sugar Acorn Squash

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

  2. Scoop the seeds and stringy pulp out of the squash cavity and discard.

  3. In a small mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar and applesauce.

  4. Rub the squash cavity and cut side of the squash with the brown sugar mixture and place on a baking sheet, cut side up.

  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour until the squash is tender when pierced with a fork.
