Makes 12 servings



Use tapioca flour instead of the wheat flour.

Recipe Ingredients for Brown Rice Baking Powder Biscuts

1 1/2 cups brown rice flour
1/2 cup wheat flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. Safflower or sesame oil
1 cup applesauce, unsweetened

Recipe Directions for Brown Rice Baking Powder Biscuts

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

  2. In a medium-large mixing bowl, stir together dry ingredients. Sprinkle oil on top and mix well with a pastry blender or fork, until consistency is crumbly.

  3. Mix in applesauce and stir until blended.

  4. Spoon heaping tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. With spoon, lightly shape into biscuit.

  5. Bake 15-18 minutes until slightly browned.

  6. Serve warm for best flavor, but may be lightly reheated in a microwave.
