Chunky Italian style broccoli "sauce" to eat over pasta

Recipe Ingredients for Broccoli topping for pasta

640 grams broccoli
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves chopped garlic
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoon parmesan cheese

Recipe Directions for Broccoli topping for pasta

  1. Chop broccoli into bite sized pieces

  2. blanch broccoli in boiling water until bright green

  3. Saute chopped garlic in olive oil until golden, add red pepper flakes

  4. Add cooked broccoli and some water if it seems too dry

  5. Cook until broccoli is cooked to you preferred softness

  6. Add salt and pepper to taste

  7. Combine with pasta and top with cheese
