Healthy, whole-wheat stove-top macaroni and cheese with broccoli

Recipe Ingredients for broccoli mac n cheese

2/3 cup uncooked whole wheat macaroni, cooked
1 cup broccoli, chopped
1/2 tbsp smart balance
1/2 tbsp butter
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tbsp onion, minced
1 tbsp whole wheat pastry flour
1/2 cup skim milk
2/3 cup low fat cheddar, shredded
1 tbsp fat free half and half
1/8 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp hot sauce

Recipe Directions for broccoli mac n cheese

  1. Steam broccoli

  2. Heat smart balance and butter. Add garlic, onion, and flour. Add milk and heat, stirring until smooth and thick. Add cheese and stir until smooth. Add half and half and seasonings. Stir in macaroni and broccoli.
