Recipe Ingredients for Broccoli & Bowties

1 lb farfalle, cooked al dente
1 lb broccoli
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
5 cloves garlic, minced
1/8 tsp red pepper flakes
1 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, grated
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 c parsley, chopped

Recipe Directions for Broccoli & Bowties

  1. Bring a cup of water to a boil and reduce heat to simmer. Add florets, cover pan and steam 3 to 5 minutes, until tender. Drain florets and set aside.

  2. Heat a deep, nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and crushed red pepper flakes. When garlic speaks by sizzling in oil, add florets and saute; for 1 or 2 minutes. Add broth and bring to a boil.

  3. If your pan isn't large enough to toss florets with pasta, transfer to a larger bowl. Toss broth and broccolini/broccoli with pasta, cheese, nutmeg, salt and pepper to your taste. Transfer to a serving dish and serve with green salad and bread.
