A basic chili recipe using turkey instead of beef. Easy to modify. Great with regular chili sides - cheese, sour cream, corn bread.

Recipe Ingredients for Brit's Turkey Chili

1 1/4 lbs turkey, ground
1 large onion, diced
15 oz tomatoes, diced
30 oz tomato sauce
15 oz kidney beans
1 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for Brit's Turkey Chili

  1. In a large saucepan, cook ground turkey on medium heat. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

  2. When turkey is almost cooked through, add onion, tomatoes (1 can), and tomato sauce (2 cans). Season with the following until preferred spice and flavor are reached: chili powder (start with 4 tablespoons and work up from there), cumin (about 2 teaspoons), garlic powder (about 1 teaspoon), cayenne (to taste), and Tabasco (to taste).

  3. Add kidney beans (1 can) and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer on low for 20-30 minutes.
