Recipe Ingredients for Brit's Sweet and Spicy Asian Pork

1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 1/2 pounds pork shoulder
8 cups bok choy, thinly sliced
2 scallions, sliced

Recipe Directions for Brit's Sweet and Spicy Asian Pork

  1. In a 4 to 6 quart slow cooker, combine soy sauce, sugar, chili-garlic sauce, ginger, five-spice powder, salt and pepper.

  2. Cut the pork shoulder into 2" pieces and add to sauce mixture - toss to coat. Cover and cook until pork is tender, 4-5 hours on high, 7-8 hours on low.

  3. Skim off and discard any fat away from the pork. Gently fold in the bok choy into the pork and cook, covered, until heated though, 2-4 min. Sprinkle with scallions and serve over rice.
