Easy meat recipe. Add more parsley, onions, pickles and even celery to increase size and minimizing additional calories.

Recipe Ingredients for Brigitta's rouladen

350 g beef, flank
150 g Ham, Sliced, Extra Lean
2 cups chopped parsley
2 cups chopped onion
1 cup sliced dill pickles
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup of carrots (chopped)
1 cup of celery - use root celery if avialble (chopped)
1 cup of broth

Recipe Directions for Brigitta's rouladen

  1. Beef flank or locally sold as beef rouladen (very thinly sliced)

  2. spread beef on counter and cover with ham.

  3. add pickles, onion and parsley and roll up

  4. secure ends with tooth picks

  5. season with granulated garlic, paprika, pepper and no-salt seasoning.

  6. brown meat in deep pan. add carrots and celery

  7. add vegetable broth.

  8. Simmer on high for approx. 1 hour.

  9. Remove meat.

  10. pour sauce through a strainer into a dish.

  11. mash vegetables through strainer.

  12. pour sauce back into pot and keep warm until other menu items are prepared than serve.

  13. Rouladen goes well with mashed potatoe and red cabbage.
