Recipe Ingredients for Breakfast Scones ver2.0

0.5 cup Wheat Flour, White, All-purpose, Enriched, Unbleached
1.5 cup Wheat Flour, Whole-grain
3 tsp Baking Powder
0.25 tsp Salt, Table
1 serving No Salt - salt substitute
15 tsp Becel Regular Margarine
2 large Egg, White
0.5 cup Milk, Lowfat, Fluid, 1% Milkfat
0.5 cup Applesauce
2 tsp Juice Lemon from Concentrate
4.5 tsp unpacked Sugars, Brown
1 serving Gala Apple
20 grams Walnuts Chopped
1.25 tsp Cinnamon, Ground

Recipe Directions for Breakfast Scones ver2.0

  1. Mix flours, 2 tbs of sugar, baking powder,1 tsp cinnamon and salt in favourite large bowl.

  2. Cut in margerine with hands or fork as you would for biscuits. It should becrumbly - do not over mix.

  3. In a large measuring cup, add lemon juice, milk, and crack in egg. Blend until smooth. Add milk mixture and 1/3 cup of walnuts to flour mixture.Loosely mix - add apples and complete mixing until mixture forms a ball.

  4. Scatter a little flour and need dough 8-10 times.

  5. Place ball on pizza sheet and pat into a flat circle about a 1/2 inch thick. Sprinkle 1 tbs sugar and 1/4 tsp cinnamon on top. Cut into 16 wedges.(pizza slicer works great).

  6. Place in pre-heated 425 F oven four approximately 15 minutes. Remove and enjoy warm.
