Recipe Ingredients for breakfast casserole

12 oz pork sausage
8 large eggs
4 cups milk
12 slices white bread
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground mustard
6 slices cheddar cheese
1/4 cup chopped scallions

Recipe Directions for breakfast casserole

  1. prepare 8 hours in advance

  2. cook sausage and drain excess fat, allow to cool completely. chop into bite-sized pieces.

  3. combine eggs, salt, mustard, and milk in bowl, whisk until well mixed.

  4. cut bread into cubes and fill 9 x 13 greased casserole dish with bread cubes, then sausage, then scallions. Pour egg mixture over top, then top with cheese slices.

  5. preheat oven to 325. bake for 1.5 hours.
