We're all in such a hurry these days, and here's a slow food way to make breakfast fast. Make them ahead and store in an airtight container for up to a week.

Recipe Ingredients for Breakfast Bars

2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
1 cup sliced almonds
1/2 cup flax meal
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup Brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
6 1/2 oz. chopped dried cherries
1 oz. butter

Recipe Directions for Breakfast Bars

  1. Spray 9x9 inch glass pan.

  2. Spread oats, seeds, and almonds onto a 1/2 sheet pan. Place in over to toast for 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

  3. Meanwhile, combine honey, brown sugar, butter, vanilla extract and salt into a medium saucepan and place over a medium heat.

  4. Cook until brown sugar is dissolved.

  5. When oat mixture is done, remove it from oven and reduce heat to 300 degrees F. Add to the liquid mixture, add dried cherries, and mix to combine.

  6. Turn out into prepared pan and press down, evenly distributing the mixture. Bake 25 minutes at 300.

  7. Cool and cut into squares.
