Recipe Ingredients for Bread - Pumpernickel

2 cups flour
1/2 cup milk
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 cup molasses
7/10 oz cocoa
4 tsp caraway seeds
2 tsp salt
1/2 cup cornmeal
1 cup flour
3 cups whole-wheat flour

Recipe Directions for Bread - Pumpernickel

Combine 2 cups flour with 1/2 cup starter and enough water to make a stiff batter. Let proof overnight. Add 1/2 cup milk and 1/2 cup water or cooled coffee along with the rest of the ingredients. Knead dough until elastic. Let rise. Form loaves. Bake at 375 until well-browned.
