Tastes like french toast. Nutritional values are for about 1 cup serving size and excludes rum sauce.

Recipe Ingredients for Bread Pudding

4.35 slices whole wheat bread
2 cups whole milk
1 tbsp butter
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract

Recipe Directions for Bread Pudding

  1. Melt butter and heat milk on stove.

  2. Tear 6 slices of low (40-50) calorie whole wheat bread into small chunks.

  3. When butter is fully melted, but bread in stove with milk and butter.

  4. Add the sugar next to give the mixture a bit of time to cool.

  5. Add the eggs slowly, a bit (about 1/4th) at a time.

  6. Add in all the other ingredients

  7. Pour into lightly greased pan and bake at 350F for 45-60 minutes.

  9. For rum sauce:

  10. Combine 1/4 cup of butter, .5 cup sugar, and 2 tbsp rum extract, then cook.
