This is like Houston's braised red cabbage only it has slightly less butter, sugar and vinegar in it and is cooked a little less so you actually taste the red cabbage more and it is a bit healthier

Recipe Ingredients for Braised Red Cabbage

1 head red cabbage
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
1/3 cup butter
4 tbl brown sugar
4 oz. goat cheese

Recipe Directions for Braised Red Cabbage

  1. cut cabbage into thin pieces

  2. melt butter in large deep pan

  3. add cabbage and cook until slightly wilted

  4. add sugar and balsamic vinegar

  5. stir and simmer for 30-45 min.

  6. add salt and pepper to taste
