deliciuos! Fennel is cooked until soft and has a very mild flavor. It's wonderful with gruyere or parmesan, and a little lemon squeezed over top.

Recipe Ingredients for Braised Fennel with Gruyere

560 about 2 Bulbs Fennel
1 1/2 tsp Homestyle stock (1/2 a tub)
35 grams Gruyere Cheese

Recipe Directions for Braised Fennel with Gruyere

  1. remove the fennel tops. Slice Fennel bulb in half and then slice into 1/4 strips. Bring a large pot of water to boil with a little salt, and blanch the fennel for about 5 minutes. Remove and drain for a minute.

  2. Pour 1 cup of the boiling liquid into a wide shallow pan over medium heat, and dissolve 1/2 a tub of the knorr homestyle concentrated beef stock. Add fennel to the pan and cover let simmer until most of the liquid is gone. Sprinkle the cheese over the top of the fennel and let it melt. You can brown it under a broiler if you like or just serve it melted.

  3. Bake in a 350* Oven for 30 minutes. Sprinkle parmesan on top and bake for 15 minute more.
