Recipe Ingredients for Braised Cabbage with Seitan

1 tsp olive oil
12 oz seitan
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp thyme
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
2 cups vegetable broth
1 pound cabbage, shredded
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar

Recipe Directions for Braised Cabbage with Seitan

  1. Heat oil in skillet.

  2. Saute seitan until lightly browned.

  3. Add garlic and spices and saute 1 minute.

  4. Deglaze with splash of vegetable broth.

  5. Add cabbage, pour over remaining broth, sprinkle with salt and sugar.

  6. Cover and cook over medium heat about 15 minutes. Check seasonings and serve.
