Philippine style braised beef short ribs with cabbage.

Recipe Ingredients for Braised Beef Short Ribs with Cabbage

2 lbs short ribs
1 large onion
2 stalks celery
2 cups beef broth
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp peppercorn
3 carrots
1 cup green beans
1 head cabbage
1 tbsp soy sauce

Recipe Directions for Braised Beef Short Ribs with Cabbage

  1. Place short ribs, whole onion, celery, beef broth, salt, and pepper in a large pot together.

  2. Boil, then simmer (covered) for 1 1/2 to 2 hours until beef is tender.

  3. Add carrots (in chunks) the last 15 to 20 minutes of cooking.

  4. Add green beans and cabbage (cut in 6 wedges) the last 7 to 10 minutes of cooking.

  5. Serve with a sprinkle of soy sauce (with a bed of rice).
