Swiss steak marinated in red wine, fresh rosemary, garlic, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, olive oil, salt and black pepper, braise cooked with onions.

Recipe Ingredients for Braise Cooked Swiss Steak with Onions

28 3/10 grams All Purpose Flour
32 oz raw Swiss Steak
1 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions
2 oz Light Tasting Olive Oil
4 fl oz Wine, Table, Red
1/2 tsp Salt, Table
1/4 tsp Pepper, Black
4 clove Garlic
1 serving Apple Cider Vinegar
1 teaspoon Juice
1 tsp Rosemary, Fresh

Recipe Directions for Braise Cooked Swiss Steak with Onions

  1. Cut steaks into 4 ounces portions.

  2. Marinate the steaks for 4-24 hours in all ingredients except for the flour and onions.

  3. Remove from the marinate and dry steaks with paper towel.

  4. Sprinkle steak with all-purpose flour.

  5. Sear steaks in olive oil until golden brown over medium high heat.

  6. Remove steaks from pan and saute onions.

  7. Lower heat to low and add steak back into the pan.

  8. Cover steak with onions and marinate to cover up to 1/3 or 1/2 of the steaks which should be about an inch thick.

  9. Cover and bring to a low shimmer in low heat.

  10. Let it cook for about 60-90 minutes.

  11. Check tenderness cutting a piece of a steak.
