*Not healthy* This is a family recipe. I only make it once or twice a year. It is a splurge! I use Rhodes Frozen Dough.

Recipe Ingredients for Bowler Family Fried Dough

1 lb bread dough
1/2 lb bacon
3 tbsp butter

Recipe Directions for Bowler Family Fried Dough

  1. Thaw bread according to package directions. Fry bacon in pan, reserving drippings. Add butter to pan. Pull off chunks of dough into maybe golf ball size balls. Flatten into a patty (fairly thin so it will cook through). Place in hot pan. Cook for a minute or two, turn dough over. Cook until golden. Slice dough open, put a slice of bacon (cut in half) and additional butter if desired. Eat!!

  2. Repeat with remaining dough, adding drippings/butter as needed.
