Recipe Ingredients for Boller (Norwegian Buns)

100 grams Butter
575 grams Wheat Flour, White, All-purpose, Enriched, Bleached
90 grams Sugars, Granulated
0.5 Teaspoon Baking Powder
0.25 tsp Salt, Table
1 oz Yeast
350 mL Lettmelk (Tine)
1 medium Egg, Whole

Recipe Directions for Boller (Norwegian Buns)

  1. Mix flour and butter, leaving some flour for adjusting the dough later.

  2. Add sugar, baking-powder, salt and dry yeast (if using fresh yeast, dissolve it in the milk).

  3. Add milk while stirring the dough continuously but gently

  4. Cover the dough and leave to rise for 45 minutes.

  5. Divide the dough into 20 pieces and roll them into balls.

  6. Place on a tray with baking-paper.

  7. Cover and leave to rise again for 30 minutes.

  8. Whisk the egg and coat the buns with it.

  9. Put in the oven (225c) for 12 to 14 minutes.
