14 oz (Heinz) Chili Style Pinto
56 oz (Unico) Tomatoes CDA
6 oz (Compliments) Tomato Paste CDA
1 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions
3 stalk, large (11"-12" long) Celery
1 medium (approx 2-3/4" long, 2-1/2" dia) Peppers, Sweet, Green
1 medium Red Bell Pepper
1 serving (Hormel) Real Bacon Bits
2 serving (Compliments) Beef Bouillon Concentrate CDA
60 mL (Compliments) Chili Powder CDA
3 serving (Lea
15 mL (Derlea Foods) Garlic, Minced CDA
1 tablespoon Oregano

2 serving Hot Sauce
1 tsp, leaves Basil, Dried
1 tsp Salt, Table
1 tsp Pepper, Black
1 tsp Cayenne Pepper
1 tsp Paprika
1 tsp Sugars, Granulated

Recipe Directions for Boilermaker Texas Chili

  1. Heat a large stock pot over medium-high heat. Crumble the ground chuck and sausage into the hot pan, and cook until evenly browned. Drain off excess grease.

  2. Pour in the chili beans, spicy chili beans, diced tomatoes and tomato paste. Add the onion, celery, green and red bell peppers, chile peppers, bacon bits, bouillon, and beer. Season with chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, oregano, cumin, hot pepper sauce, basil, salt, pepper, cayenne, paprika, and sugar. Stir to blend, then cover and simmer over low heat for at least 2 hours, stirring occasionally.

  3. After 2 hours, taste, and adjust salt, pepper, and chili powder if necessary. The longer the chili simmers, the better it will taste. Remove from heat and serve, or refrigerate, and serve the next day.

  4. To serve, ladle into bowls, and top with corn chips and shredded Cheddar cheese.
