Use wild blueberries, they are smaller.

Recipe Ingredients for Blueberry Spice Muffins

1 3/4 cups white whole wheat flour
1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 egg
3/4 cup 2% milk
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 T. granulated sugar
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

Recipe Directions for Blueberry Spice Muffins

  1. Mix all dry ingredients except the last T. of sugar and 1/4 tsp of cinnamon.

  2. Mix wet ingredients.

  3. Mix both together, then fold in blueberries (do not thaw first).

  4. Spoon into greased muffin pan.

  5. Combine 1 T. sugar with 1/4 tsp cinnamon and sprinkle over each before baking.

  6. Bake at 400 x 15-20 minutes.
