This recipe is heart healthy and vegan. I used date sugar, not cane sugar. There are a little less calories in date sugar and it is not as sweet. If you use cane sugar, try using less than 2/3 cup. Brown sugar is more tasty though! I use pure maple syrup. Just trying to keep it healthy!

Recipe Ingredients for Blueberry Raspberry Cobbler

2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup ground flax seed
2/3 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup dates, chopped
1/3 dried blueberries
1/3 cup walnuts, chopped
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 cups raspberries
3 cups blueberries
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/4 salt

Recipe Directions for Blueberry Raspberry Cobbler

  1. Topping: Combine first seven ingredients and a few shakes of salt. Add oil and stir.

  2. Combine raspberries, blueberries, maple syrup and salt.

  3. Place berry mixture in a small baking pan.

  4. Pour on the topping.

  5. Bake at 375 degrees until the fruit bubble and the topping browns.
