Tasty, not too sweet, fresh food meal replacement post-workout protein shake.

Recipe Ingredients for Blueberry-buckwheat protein shake

3 cups blueberries (frozen, Costco)
3 oz acai
1 cinnamon to taste
10 oz whey protein
2 cups water
3 tbsp fresh ginger
5 oz buckwheat groats, (=10 oz, cooked)

Recipe Directions for Blueberry-buckwheat protein shake

  1. I use Russian style toasted buckwheat, and the whey protein is whey protein isolate. Soy milk is optional, instead of water/

  2. The acai is available unsweetened at whole foods at 12oz for $5.99. I always hope for a sale.

  3. Hand blend everything in a large tub with lots of water.

  4. Dates may be cooked with the buckwheat to add extra flavor and sweetness.
