Recipe Ingredients for blueberry bars

1 cup Honey
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 cups Whole Wheat flour
1 1/2 cups oatmeal
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 egg
1 pinch ground cinnamon
4 cups fresh blueberries
1/2 cup Honey
3 teaspoons cornstarch
2 teaspoons cinnamon

Recipe Directions for blueberry bars

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch pan.

  2. In a medium bowl, stir together flour, oatmeal, baking powder, and pinch of cinnamon.

  3. Blend in the 1 C. Honey, applesause and egg.

  4. Pat half of dough into the prepared pan.

  5. In another bowl, stir together the 1/2 C. Honey, 2 tsp cinnamon and cornstarch. Gently mix in the blueberries. Sprinkle the blueberry mixture evenly over the crust.

  6. Carefully spread remaining dough over the berry layer (It doesn't have to be completely covered. )

  7. Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until top is slightly brown. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
