Recipe Ingredients for Blackthorne's Cranberry Oatmeal Bars

3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup white whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups uncooked oats
3/4 cup turbinado sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 teaspoon lemon peel
1 cooking spray (butter flavored is best)

Recipe Directions for Blackthorne's Cranberry Oatmeal Bars

  1. Preheat oven to 375F.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine applesauce, cranberries, lemon peel and turbinado sugar. Allow turbinado sugar to dissolve.

  3. Add flours, oats, and baking soda.

  4. Press mixture into 13 x 9 inch baking pan that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.

  5. Bake at 375F for 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned.

  6. Cool, and cut into squares.
