Smoked ham hock and black-eyed pea soup.

Recipe Ingredients for Black-eyed Pea Soup

3 cups black-eyed peas
1 quart chicken broth
1/2 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped carrots
1 cup chopped onion
2 tbsp. chopped garlic
1/2 cup ham hock
1/2 tbsp. salt
3 cups water

Recipe Directions for Black-eyed Pea Soup

Put all ingrediants and spices (oregano, thyme, basil, star anise, ground pepper, etc.) into crock pot. Cook 8 to 10 hours on low. Fish out ham hock, cool, pick out meat and dice into soup.
