Black beans cooked with seasonings, onions, garlic, and tomatoes

Recipe Ingredients for Black Beans, Tomato, and Onions

16 oz black beans (precooked from dry without salt added)
7 large onions
2 T olive oil
15 cloves garlic (45g)
1 T thyme leaves
1 T cumin
1 1/2 t Sodium-Free Salt
6 medium tomatoes (~740g)
1 c water (or more)

Recipe Directions for Black Beans, Tomato, and Onions

  1. chop onions and tomatoes

  2. Saute onions in oil and then add garlic

  3. Add seasonings (but not salt substitute)

  4. add black beans and water (as needed)

  5. simmer for~.5-1 hour

  6. Once beans are tender, add tomatoes and salt substitute and simmer further until to degree of "mush" you prefer

  7. Estimated to be 11-1c servings

  8. This is an approxiate recipe and has only been made once. It needs refining with the seasonings.
