Recipe Ingredients for Black Bean Veggie Burgers

16 oz black beans, drained and rinsed
1/2 green pepper, roughly chopped
1/2 onion, roughly chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 egg whites
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp cumin
1 tsp hot sauce
1/2 cup quick oats

Recipe Directions for Black Bean Veggie Burgers

  1. Preheat oven to 375, lightly grease a baking sheet

  2. Saute pepper, onion, and garlic just until soft over medium high heat.

  3. In a medium bowl, mash beans until thick and pasty

  4. Put sauteed pepper, onion and garlic into food process and pulse until finely chopped. Add to beans

  5. In a small bowl, mix egg whites, chili powder, cumin and hot sauce. Add to bean mixture and stir. Add oatmeal and mix until sticky and holds together.

  6. Divide mixture into 4 patties. Bake on prepared baking sheet for 10 minutes, turn, and bake for 10 more minutes.
