Recipe Ingredients for Black Bean Tomato Pasta Sauce.

1/3 cup onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic
1 tbsp olive oil
1 (14.5 oz) tomato, diced
1 (3 oz) tomato, pureed.
3/4 tsp sugar
1/2 cup black beans
2 leaves basil
5 sprigs parsley
1/3 cup Milk, Lowfat, Fluid, 1% Milkfat
1/4 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for Black Bean Tomato Pasta Sauce.

  1. Simmer onions and garlic in olive oil over medium heat, do not let garlic brown.

  2. Once onions are cooked, add the tomatoes (in diced and paste form) to the sauce pan.

  3. Add sugar, and seasonings to taste.

  4. Add Black Beans once the sauce is thoroughly warm.

  5. Allow the sauce to cook - add milk to thicken.
