A zippy southwestern-flavored black bean soup. Made with canned beans, it comes together in minutes.

Recipe Ingredients for Black Bean Soup

1 small Onions
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil, Canola
1 tbsp Chili Powder
1 tsp Cumin
3 cup (8 fl oz) Water
1/2 cup Sauce, Ready-to-serve, Salsa
1/4 tsp Sea Salt
2 lime yields Lime Juice
56 7/10 grams Cilantro

Recipe Directions for Black Bean Soup

  1. 1. Heat oil in large sauce pan over medium heat. Add onion and cook, stirring until soft 2 to 3 minutes. Add chili powder and cumin and cook for 1 minute. Add drained and rinsed beans, water, salsa, and salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and add lime juice.

  2. 2. Transfer 1/2 the soup to a blender and puree. Stir the puress back into the sauce pan. servered garnished with sour cream and cilantro, if desired.
