Recipe Ingredients for Black Bean Soup

2 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, diced
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
3 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup salsa
1 tablespoon lime juice
30 ounces black beans, canned organic, rinsed
1 tablespoon canola oil

Recipe Directions for Black Bean Soup

  1. Heat oil in large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and cook, stirring, until soft, about 3 minutes. Add chili powder and cumin and cook, stirring, another minute. Add beans, broth and salsa. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in lime juice.

  2. Blend with immersion blender until desired consistency is reached.
