Easy, simple, healthy, and delicious. I love to add frozen vegetables to make it a complete, healthy meal, but is also good as-is for anyone that just wants something fast and hearty. Great for winter, and can be made in huge batches and frozen for added convenience.

Recipe Ingredients for black bean soup

4 serving goya black beans dry
200 grams Onions
3 cup (8 fl oz) Water
1 serving, raw Cilantro
1/4 tsp Cumin
1/4 tsp Cayenne

Recipe Directions for black bean soup

  1. Saute the onions and minced garlic in a 1/4 cup of water in a nonstick saucepan. Once the onions have become translucent, place the onions and garlic in a large stockpot. Add the rinsed beans, water, and spices. Simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Taste-test the soup after 20 minutes and remove from heat once the beans are cooked to your liking.

  2. For a slightly different taste, add frozen or fresh vegetables such as chopped carrots, kale, or broccoli.
