1 large onion diced
5 cloves garlic
1 tbsp cumin
1 tsp pepper
7 cups water
2 cups chicken broth
100 g chillies
250 g smoked ham hock

  1. in a pot blend all the ingredients and bring to a boil.

  2. let the pot simmer until the beans are soft.

  3. put the mixture into the blender and puree until smooth.

  4. When you serve the soup thin it with water/broth or milk
