Recipe Ingredients for Black bean oat burgers

25 oz
1 1/2 cups diced mushrooms
1 1/2 cup
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tbsp cumin
1/4 tsp ground black pepper

Recipe Directions for Black bean oat burgers

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F.

  2. Place half the beans in a food processor or blender along with mushrooms, oats, garlic, egg, cumin, and pepper (add salt, chili powder, bell pepper, to your liking).

  3. Process until well mixed.

  4. Add remaining beans and pulse the machine until they're combined into the mixture.

  5. Form into 6 patties.

  6. Place on baking sheet. Bake for about 10 minutes on each side or until browned.

  7. Toast buns for 2 minutes. Serve bean burgers on toasted buns and top with mustard, tomato, and spinach.

  8. Option: grill with vegetable or olive oil (baking eliminates oil!)
