i call it a soup, you'd probably just call it beans. you can also throw it in a food processor or blender and make dip.

Recipe Ingredients for Black bean and corn soup

1 tsp canola oil
1 lb Dried Black Beans
1 roma tomato
1/3 cup onion
1/4 cup green bell pepper
1 cup frozen Corn
1 cube g) Bouillon
1/4 teaspoon cumin
4 cloves garlic
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 oregano to taste
1 tbsp,+crumbled bay leaf
1 cayenne pepper to taste

Recipe Directions for Black bean and corn soup

  1. soak dry beans overnight. the longer you soak them the less time they take to cook.

  2. set oven to 450 in an oven dish roast frozen corn until some of the edges get brown

  3. then remove from oven and stir in half your chili powder

  4. in a pot heat tsp of oil, i use canola

  5. throw in chopped cloves of garlic on medium heat and saute for about a minute or so.

  6. add in onion, bell pepper, tomato and all of your remaining spices. saute over medium high heat for about 2 minutes.

  7. add in chili-corn and saute over medium heat for another 3 minutes

  8. pour off some of the bean soaking water in the sink enough so the water hovers over the top most beans

  9. add the beans to the pot. if you don't have enough water add just enough to cover the contents of the pot.

  10. stir and bring to a boil. then simmer for around 2 hours stirring occasionally so it doesn't stick to the bottom.

  11. to test if beans are tender, using the back of a strong spoon, smush the beans against the side of the pot. the easier they smash the more they are done.

  12. the liquid shouldn't be too runny or too thick add water as needed.
