Spicy chili made with black beans, sirloin, and dark beer.

Recipe Ingredients for Black bean chili

1 pound top sirloin steak, cut into 1 inch cubes(sometimes I use GB)
2 onions (chopped)
1 medium-sized green bell pepper, chopped
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 1/2 tsp salt (I omitt if I use boulion)
3 tbsp olive oil
28 oz crushed tomatoes
12 oz dark beer
2 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp ground cumin (I don't use that much, only 1/4 tsp)
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp. dried oregano
1 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
2 cups beef broth (I use boulion)
45 oz black beans, rinsed and drained

Recipe Directions for Black bean chili

Cook first 5 ingredients and 1/2 teaspoon salt in hot oil in a large Dutch oven over medium high heat, stirring constantly, 8 minutes or until beef browns and vegetables are tender. (I always make sure all veggies are cut and ready to go before I start). Stir in remaining 1 teaspoon salt, crushed tomatoes, 1/2 cup beer and next 6 ingredients, and simmer, stirring occasionally, 30 minutes. Stir in remaining 1 cup beer, broth, and beans, and simmer, stirring occasionally, 45 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Garnish, if desired. Makes 12 cups.
