This is an easy recipe makes delicious veggie burgers, ten times better than anything you can get in the store. The total cooking prep time is about 20 minutes, just add lettuce and you are good to go.

Recipe Ingredients for Black Bean Burgers

15 oz can black beans
1 cup brown rice, cooked
6 tbsp salsa
1 egg
1/4 cup sour cream
4 slices cheddar cheese

Recipe Directions for Black Bean Burgers

  1. 1 tsp onion powder

  2. 15 oz can black beans, drained and rinsed

  3. 1/4 cup sour cream

  4. 4 tbsp salsa for sauce, 2 tbsp for burgers

  5. 1 egg, slightly beaten

  6. Mash black beans with a fork

  7. Add egg,2 tbsp salsa, onion powder and brown rice

  8. mix well

  9. drop 1/2 cupfuls of mixture onto a pan/griddle (medium-high heat)

  10. cook for 4 minutes on each side

  11. For the sauce mix sour cream and remaining salsa

  12. Top the burgers with the sauce
