Healthy chocolate bars sweetened with honey and bananas. Recipe from happyherbivore.com; she calls them Black Bean Brownies but while they are delicious, they are not brownies. If you expect brownies you may be disappointed.

Recipe Ingredients for Black Bean Brownies

2 cup Beans, Black, Mature Seeds
2 medium (7" to 7-7/8" long) Bananas
0.33 cup Honey, Strained Or Extracted
0.25 cup Cocoa, Dry Powder, Unsweetened
1 tbsp Cinnamon, Ground
0.25 cup Regular Rolled Oats

Recipe Directions for Black Bean Brownies

  1. Preheat oven to 350F

  2. Spray an 8x8 pan and set aside

  3. Combine all ingredients, except oats, in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth, scraping sides as needed.

  4. Stir in the oats and pour batter into pan

  5. Bake approx 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. Allow to cool before slicing.

  7. If you find these too soft or too fudgey, add another 1/4 cup oats or flour.

  8. Can add 1/4 cup raw sugar if your bananas are not ripe and sweet enough (sugar not included in ingredients list or nutritional information).

  9. Use instant oats or rolled oats run through the food processor.
