makes very large burgers that hold up on the grill. Freezes well.

Recipe Ingredients for Black bean, barley, bulgar burgers

3 cups cooked black beans
2 cups couscous
2 cups barley
1/2 cup onion, minced
3 cloves garlic
1 cup fresh parsley
2 tbs olive oil
1 cup bread crumbs (homemade whole wheat)
1/4 cup milled flax seed
1 tbs paprika
1 tbs chili powder

Recipe Directions for Black bean, barley, bulgar burgers

  1. mix all of the ingredients (except oil) with a fork

  2. blend 1/2 mixture in food processor and drizzle oil through shoot

  3. mix together with hand (mixture will be very sticky)

  4. Roll into balls and let dry for about 45 minutes

  5. Flatten, brush with oil and grill or fry until crispy and tender
