These are wonderful, light breakfast bisquits. Easy to make and real crowd pleasers. You can multiply the recipe with the same results.

Recipe Ingredients for Bisquits

2 cups all purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup shortening
3/4 cup buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Recipe Directions for Bisquits

Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening till like coarse crumbs. Make well and add milk, stirring quickly only till dough follows fork around. Turn doug out onto floured surface. Kneak dough 12 times with heel of hand. Pat dough to 1/2 inch thickness. Dip bisquit cuter in flour, then cut dough straight down - no twisting. Place biscuits on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 12 minutes in 450 degree oven.
