Recipe Ingredients for biskit's biscuits

1 package yeast
1/2 cup water
5 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp baking powder
2 tbsp sugar
3/4 cup crisco shortening
2 cups buttermilk

Recipe Directions for biskit's biscuits

preheat oven to 400. Dissolve yeast in warm water, set aside. Mix dry ingredients, cut in shortening. Add yeast and buttermilk and mix well. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and roll out to desired thickness (1/2-3/4"). Cut with biscuit sutter and put on greased baking sheet. Bake ~12 minutes, or until lightly browned. Makes about 24 rolls.
