For melt-in-your-mouth goodness, it's hard to beat tender, flaky Biscuits Supreme. Serve them piping hot with butter and honey, or just eat them straight out of the oven.

Recipe Ingredients for Biscuits Supreme

1 cup flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
2 tsp sugar
1/2 cup crisco
2/3 cup nonfat milk

Recipe Directions for Biscuits Supreme

  1. Sift dry ingredients into bowl.

  2. Cut in shortening until like coarse crumbs.

  3. Make a well; add milk all at once.

  4. Stir quickly with fork just till dough follows fork around bowl.

  5. Turn onto lightly floured board. Knead gently 10 to 12 strokes.

  6. Roll or pat dough 1/2 inch thick. Cut with biscuit cutter.

  7. Bake at 450 for 10 - 12 minutes.
