Paula Deen recipe. I used a two inch biscuit cutter and rolled the dough to about 1/2 of an inch.

Recipe Ingredients for Biscuits

1 package yeast
1/2 cup water, lukewarm
5 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 tablespoons sugar
3/4 cup shortening
2 cups buttermilk

Recipe Directions for Biscuits

  1. dissolve yeast in warm water.

  2. Stir together dry ingredients, cut in shortening, add yeast and buttermilk. Roll out and cut into small biscuits. Bake at 400 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
