Joy of Cooking recipe for basic rolled biscuits

Recipe Ingredients for Biscuits

2 cups all purpose flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
5 1/2 tbsp butter (cold)
3/4 cup 1% milk

Recipe Directions for Biscuits

  1. Combine dry ingredients and pulse in food processor.

  2. Cut butter into roughly 1/2 inch cubes and add to dry ingredients. Pulse until mixture resembles course bread crumbs. Be careful not to overheat the mixture.

  3. Add milk all at once and pulse until the dough comes together.

  4. Remove to a floured surface and knead a few times.

  5. Roll out the dough and cut into 2.5 inch biscuits.
