Recipe Ingredients for Biscuits, old-fashioned with butter

1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup rolled oats
1 1/2 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
1 cup buttermilk

Recipe Directions for Biscuits, old-fashioned with butter

  1. Preheat oven to 450F

  2. Mix dry ingredients except oats

  3. Cut in butter with a pastry blender; be sure it's cold

  4. Add oats and mix

  5. Add buttermilk and stir until mix forms a soft dough and comes off the sides of the bowl. If it is too sticky, add a bit of flour.

  6. Press out on a floured surface and cut biscuits out

  7. Transfer to a baking sheet and bake for 14 minutes at 450F

  8. Serve hot.
